And how are you guys doing? I have slowed down at the moment, for the right reasons though but still continue to chase my dream.

Dream of being fit & healthy. For my self & my family & also to teach my child how important fitness is.

Do remember a healthy body is a healthy mind, which also eventually translates into a happy mind :)

That’s right. I haven’t posted in more than ten days but I am still here & still pushing.

Start of a new week is here. Give it your all & continue at it. That is eating healthy & incorporating some sort of exercise in your daily routine.

The road ahead is tough & there is no denying it but we can do this.

Just remember why we started. For me things have been going a little slow lately but I am still happy with my progress. As they say any progress is better than no progress ;)

Here is to some weekend humor.

I haven’t been posting much since I haven’t been feeling good for the past couple of days. Have been only able to workout once a week but still trying to eat clean.

As I always say don’t let the hard work of your weekdays ruin your weekend. We can do this. We just have to stick to it.

And if by any chance you have fallen off the bandwagon then ask yourself what sucks more ;)

Hope you are having a strong weekend. Let’s do this.

Who said eating healthy meant depriving yourself?

Tonight’s Dinner: Homemade Chinese Chicken & Corn Soup followed by homemade Chicken Zinger Wraps.

That’s right. The plate on the top is Mr.’s & the plate on the bottom is mine. I opted to avoid the Cheddar cheese in my wrap & instead of using a 6-inch Tortilla as I used to make his wraps, I made mine in a slice of lettuce.

Zinger sauce was made by mixing 1 tablespoon light Mayonnaise, ½ tablespoon ketchup & 1 tablespoon Vinegar. (Per wrap)

And for my wrap, I basically topped a large Romaine Lettuce leaf with 2 ounces of Fried Chicken Breast pieces, 1 Roma tomato & the Zinger Sauce. I also had another 2-ounce piece of fried Chicken Breast & 1 ½ cups Soup.

I love making home made Chinese Soups. It’s a great way to control your sodium & fat intake. Did you know this one & a half cup of homemade soup was only 97 calories? It had 11 grams of Protein & only 8 grams of Carbs & 2 grams of Fat. Isn’t that awesome.

Eliminating the tortilla & cheese meant I was able to cut off 145 calories from my meal making my total calorie count to 340 calories, which included 19 grams of Carbs, 10 grams of Fat & 41 grams of Protein. Note: the soup, ketchup & vegetables still provided enough carbs for me.

Remember eating healthy is more about eating smart than eating less. So challenge yourself, make it fun & lets do this.

That’s right. Do you have that discipline?

The weekend is here. Don’t forget every bite of food we take makes some sort of effect on our bodies.

And on the same note any exercise we do also makes a great impact on our bodies.

Don’t let Friday night or just one weekend ruin your hard work. Show your body how much you love it by not ignoring it over the weekend.

Let’s promise ourselves to stick to at least one healthy habit for the next two days that we do on the weekdays as well.

If we can do more, that’s even better.

Let’s do this!

Anyone up for some Pizza?
Tonight’s Dinner: Two slices of Tandoori Chicken & Veggie Pizza.
And who knew we could rack 44 grams of Protein in only 2 slices of Pizza. Yes you read that right, while this meal was definitely on the higher end of carbs, it also had a great amount of Protein.
I used chicken breast meat & very little cheese, enough to hold the topping in & all kinds of vegetables & don’t be fooled by the fact that these are only two slices. They have still filled me up pretty good.
Always remember, unlike Carbs & Fats, Protein keeps our stomachs full for a longer time, so make sure your snacks & meals have higher amounts of protein in them.
